# Mission: Web3 / Blockchain for Marketnode Engineering Leadership

## Why
I'm Head of Engineering at Marketnode (institutional digital market infrastructure: tokenized funds,
structured products, credit; transfer agency, registry, and corporate-actions automation on blockchain).
I need to lead and grow the Web3 engineering function — design blockchain application architecture,
make credible technical decisions, and evaluate what my team builds and who I hire.

## Success looks like
- I can sketch the end-to-end architecture of a tokenized-fund platform (issuance, registry/transfer agent,
identity/compliance, custody, secondary transfer, redemption) and explain each layer's job.
- I can read a Solidity smart contract and a permissioned-token design (e.g. ERC-3643 / T-REX) and reason
about its correctness, security, and compliance trade-offs.
- I can run a technical interview for a Web3 engineer and tell strong answers from bluffing.
- I can challenge my team's design decisions: which chain, permissioned vs public, on-chain vs off-chain,
custody model, upgradeability, gas/cost, key management.

## Constraints
- One week of daily, extensive study. Optimise for breadth + decision-grade depth over implementation mastery.
- Strong programmer, fluent in TypeScript. Learned basic Solidity ~3 years ago, mostly forgotten.
- Institutional/regulated context — public retail DeFi (yield farming, memecoins, etc.) is largely irrelevant.

## Out of scope
- Becoming a hands-on production smart-contract developer (I lead, I don't ship contracts).
- Retail DeFi, trading strategies, tokenomics speculation, NFTs-as-art.
- Deep cryptography proofs (I need working intuition, not to implement elliptic curves).
